ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
Linked to other communities by scenic route 169, Woodstock has been an important tourist destination. As result, local artisans, shop keepers, and restaurateurs continue to expand.
EDUCATION
Woodstock Elementary School houses grades pre-kindergarten through fourth. The Middle School continues the educational process through grade eight. Woodstock Academy is a non-selective, independent secondary school which serves as the public high school for Woodstock residents. The school's athletic teams have won numerous league, sectional and state championships.
RECREATION
Roslannd Park provides the community with a playground, picnic areas, and sporting facilities. The town beach is at Pond Factory in North Woodstock. There are several golf courses to choose from in this town, Woodstock Golf Course and Harrisville Golf Course. The Woodstock Fair, one of the oldest and largest agricultural fairs in New England, is held every year on Labor Day weekend. Woodstock's Senior Citizens group is very active with regular weekly and monthly activities as well as special events and trips.
