Eastford is a scenic rural town with dense forests, dairy farms and small businesses. Much of the land in Eastford is part of the Natchaug State Forest and the Yale Forest.

Eastford Elementary School provides a quality education for children in grades Kindergarten through eight. Students usually attend Woodstock Academy in nearby Woodstock or H. H. Ellis Regional Technical School in Killingly to complete their education.

Eastford residents can enjoy hiking or picnicking at Natchaug State Forest. Eastford has a Little League field and two additional baseball areas. The Recreation Commission is very active and sponsors many annual events for its residents.
