Canterbury is a typical New England country town located along the Quinebaug River. Canterbury is the home of the Prudence Crandall Museum and the birthplace of Moses Cleveland.
EDUCATION
Canterbury Elementary School educates children in grades Kindergarten to four. The Dr. Helen Baldwin Middle School consists of grades five to eight. Students then attend the designated area high school, Norwich Free Academy.
RECREATION
The Canterbury Recreation Department sponsors many activities for the local community. Canterbury has several 4-H clubs, an active Little League as well as several girl and boy scout troops. There are four municipal recreation parks in the town.
