ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
The central and western portions of Brooklyn are residential and rural with many beautifully preserved areas, whereas the eastern sector has become predominantly commercial. This area is continuing to grow with local businesses committed to serving the community.
EDUCATION
The Brooklyn Elementary School educates children in grades one to four, and the Brooklyn Middle School educates children in grades five through eight. Students may then choose from three area high schools: Woodstock Academy, Killingly High School, or Ellis Technical School.
RECREATION
The Brooklyn Recreation and Parks Commission offers sports programs and field trips for the community. An after-school program and summer recreation program is provided for children of Brooklyn. There are several playgrounds in Brooklyn and there are also two well-maintained public tennis courts and a golf course for the community to enjoy.
